La Forma Bonita

Have you ever noticed how so many of these extremely beautiful places have almost exactly the same shape?  More specifically a narrow tapering tower that peaks with a rounded summit.  There is something about this magical shape that appeals universally to our aesthetic sense somewhere deep within us.  They are the subject of artistic ideals from classic Chinese painting to contemporary Latin American art.  These are some of the sites which are based on La Forma Bonita:

Machu Picchu, Peru
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Torres del Paine, Chile
Phang Nga Bay, Thailand
Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
Guilin karsts, China
